If you live in Pickerington City Schools, Tuesday's ballot asked for a 0.75% income tax to cover daily operating costs. It's smaller than the permanent 1.25% levy voters rejected in May, which failed by a wide margin.

The district says it has spent more than it collects since 2022 and expects to add roughly 1,000 students over five years. 10TV reports the district projects a deficit by fiscal year 2029 without more money.

Fox 28 reports that Social Security income is exempt. We suggest checking the live results page for the count.

  • Starts: Jan. 1, 2027, and runs 10 years
  • Total school income tax rate: 1% to 1.75% if passed
  • If rejected: the existing 1% school income tax stays

$600more a year, approximately, for $80,000 in Ohio taxable income

That's about $50 a month, the district estimates.
