EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Fairfield County Foundation has opened scholarship applications for the 2026–2027 school year with a March 6 deadline; over 100 funds are available for local students. A Scholarship and FAFSA Night will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Fairfield County District Library Main Branch. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
- ➤ An Ohio University Lancaster engineering technology student advanced his career through a five-year partnership with the Fairfield County Workforce Center, which offers hands-on training via courses and visits at Mid-West Fabricating. Tyler Merritt now works as a CMM technician and quality inspector while preparing for an engineering role. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Liberty Union outplayed Fisher Catholic by 58-35 on Thursday, Dec. 11 as Cooper Manson scored a game-high 27 points and helped his team prevail with full-court pressure. Liberty Union will play Logan Elm at home on Dec. 13 while Fisher Catholic hosts Fairfield Christian. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
