Good morning, Lancaster.

On Monday, Nov. 24, OHSAA member schools voted 447—121 to approve a new bylaw that lets high school athletes get paid for their name, image and likeness while keeping rules in place to protect their eligibility.

The policy takes effect immediately and mandates that student-athletes report any deal within 14 days to avoid penalties.

Bloom-Carroll senior Aidan Scholz, who recorded 161 tackles — including 97 solos — was named the 2025 Eagle-Gazette Defensive Player of the Year, highlighting his role as a key leader on the field.
