- ➤ Salvation Army serving Lancaster and Fairfield County will kick off its Christmas Cheer campaign with a luncheon on November 20 at The Mill Event Center to begin Angel Tree adoptions and donations supporting over 500 Fairfield County children. - ➤ Mayor Don McDaniel was named a 2025 inductee to the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame—an honor that recognizes his service—and will be celebrated at an upcoming ceremony. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Fairfield Community Health Center will host its first Healthcare Gala on March 12 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Event Center in Lancaster to honor local health workers — awarding a $500 scholarship to an Ohio University or Ohio University Lancaster student entering a medical field, while proceeds support affordable, quality care. - ➤ Ohio University Lancaster announced a free community health worker training program that will run from Jan. 12 through May 2 with applications due Dec. 12—this hybrid course includes online classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and three in-person sessions along with 130 supervised field hours to prepare participants for certification.
