- ➤ The Rotary Club of Lancaster received a $15,000 donation from Vinton County National Bank to fund an all-accessible playground planned for Miller Park—now more than 70% of the funds needed have been raised for the project. The playground will share space with the All-Abilities Ball Field and is estimated to cost slightly over $1 million. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
- ➤ Two local favorites, Pink Cricket and Cherry Street Pub, will host the first-ever Pink Cherry Crawl from Nov. 13-15 to offer craft cocktails, music bingo from 7-9 p.m. at Pink Cricket, and a $1,000 prize bundle. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Ohio’s regular gas price dropped to $2.90 per gallon on Monday, down from $2.92 last week, and it has fallen about 9 cents from last month and 2% compared to a year ago—remaining nearly 4% below the national average of $3.02. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A $1.5 million grant will expand driver education access for low-income teens in Fairfield County. The Drive to Succeed program—a partnership among the Fairfield County Educational Service Center + the Ohio Department of Public Safety + the Ohio Traffic Safety Office—will provide scholarships to cover courses that cost between $400 and $900. - ➤ Bloom-Carroll girls volleyball won a five-set match on November 7 at Wittenberg University to secure their first state championship game ticket.
