  • At Fairfield Medical Center, dedicated women known as TWIGS work with the Foundation to help patients with focused fundraising events—such as cancer care runs, consignment sales, and seasonal auctions—that benefit the local community. They have raised about $5 million over many years and welcome new members who can spare a few hours to join their efforts.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in central Ohio held steady at $2.94 per gallon from a survey of 500 stations this week—experts warn that prices will soon jump due to refinery issues and planned increases in oil production.  NBC4

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The November full moon, called the beaver moon, will be a supermoon that appears larger and brighter because it will be closer to Earth and will reach its peak (8:19 a.m.) on November 5. It is the second supermoon of the year.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

  • Fans in Lancaster can vote for the Eagle-Gazette Athlete of the Week as the high school fall sports season gets underway—voting will continue from 6 a.m. Monday to 5 p.m. Friday and the winner will be announced soon after the poll ends.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
