  • Bloom-Carroll crowned its 2025 homecoming queen and king before the Fairfield Union game—sparking excitement among students and staff.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • Thy Will Be Done is a new film on Amazon Prime that follows an inner-city detective assigned to solve a complex string of deaths. Director, producer, and actor Jazz Securo shot the film entirely in Central Ohio — a detail that may interest local viewers.  ABC6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Amanda-Clearcreek held its homecoming on September 26 where seniors Parker Hill, 18, and Emma Strickler, 17, were crowned king and queen at the school football field—bringing together families and friends in Amanda. The event celebrated school spirit and local tradition.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Ohio: Wild at Heart is a new documentary that shows Ohio’s parks and conservation work with narration by former Ohio State football star Archie Griffin. The film will start showing in theaters statewide in October — it offers behind-the-scenes looks at wildlife restoration and park efforts.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio is close to enforcing a law that will ban using SNAP benefits for sugary drinks as a state workgroup finalizes recommendations before Gov. DeWine seeks a USDA waiver—these changes, which include allowing SNAP purchases of precooked rotisserie chickens, will take effect Jan. 1 and affect nearly 1.4 million Ohioans.  ABC6

SPORTS NEWS

  • Fisher Catholic improved to 5 wins and 1 loss when Sam Tencza rushed for 216 yards and scored four touchdowns in the 49 to 18 win over Miller—Leo Hampshire intercepted twice and returned a fumble for a score while Bloom-Carroll earned its third straight win with a 17 to 7 victory over Fairfield Union. Other high school matchups ended with wins for teams including Pickerington Central, Logan Elm, Grove City Christian, Worthington Christian, Hamilton Township and Zanesville Rosecrans.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
