- ➤ Frontier Spirit 1799 returns to Alley Park on Sept. 27 and 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with hands-on historical demos such as blacksmithing, fire starting with flint and steel, and broom making—children join in pioneer games and an old-fashioned church service is held on Sunday at 9 a.m. Admission is free. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Daylight saving time will end on Nov. 2 at 2 a.m.—clocks will be set back one hour to give residents an extra hour of sleep. Ohio lawmakers have urged Congress to make daylight saving time permanent while federal action remains pending. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ohio University Lancaster’s senior nursing students will host a free Community Health Fair at the campus gym on Oct. 13 from 2-5 p.m.—offering educational booths on nutrition, mental health and chronic disease prevention—and inviting local health agencies to share expert wellness tips.
