BUSINESS NEWS

  • Snyder & Company in Lancaster expanded its team by hiring Mason Dubois as a staff accountant and Jacob Rettig as assistant manager. Dubois started as an intern while Rettig, a CPA from Franklin University, brings strong experience to help the firm serve local clients.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Hamilton, Franklin, Montgomery, and 15 other counties were placed under quarantine by the Ohio Department of Agriculture to limit the spread of the invasive spotted lanternfly — a threat to local vineyards, orchards, and gardens. The agency urged residents to squish any insects they saw to help protect the state’s agriculture industry.  ABC6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fairfield County has launched its Community Crisis Response Team—composed of mental health professionals, first responders and educators—to provide immediate support after disasters. The team is funded by a federal grant and will work with local emergency services to improve behavioral health response.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Lancaster's Harper Allen led the Lady Gales to a second-place finish at the Bob Reall Invitational on Saturday as she finished fourth overall (18:46.1) and Fairfield Union's Connor Runkle placed fourth in the boys' meet with a time of 15:47.8, while the Lancaster boys finished seventh overall.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
