BUSINESS NEWS

  • Costco is recalling unopened bottles of its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene sold in states including Ohio from April 25 to Aug. 26 due to the risk of the bottle exploding even when not in use—members should dispose of them safely and bring the recall letter to a Costco warehouse for a refund.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Central Ohio gas prices fell over 50 cents in three weeks to an average of $2.91 per gallon, with the cheapest quoted at $2.55 and the highest at $3.39 — experts expect further declines into fall and winter if weather stays calm.  NBC4

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • New data shows that Fairfield County homes sold for a median price of $319,500 in June—down 3.9% from May’s $332,500, with single-family homes down 5% to $304,000 while condos and townhomes rose 15.3% to $448,500. Recorded sales dropped 26.8% from last June.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

  • Bloom-Carroll girls volleyball, ranked number one in the state, won the LVOA Tournament on Sept. 13 with three straight wins and coach McFerin earned his 100th win.   • Lancaster locals are invited to vote for the Eagle-Gazette High School Athlete of the Week from a list that includes candidates from Bloom-Carroll, Fisher Catholic, Lancaster and Berne Union.
