EDUCATION NEWS

  • Today, Tiffany Ealy joined Ohio University Lancaster’s School of Nursing as a new assistant professor, bringing more than a decade of nursing and education experience and pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership at Franklin University — expected to complete in December. She credits her mother’s work at a long-term care facility as the inspiration that led her to a career in nursing — an influence that guides her teaching.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • The CDC says mosquitoes are the world's deadliest animal — they spread illnesses like West Nile, dengue and Zika. The Ohio Department of Health reports 59 types in Ohio and urges residents to remove standing water from yards — a key step to lower mosquito-borne disease risks.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • Aspire Wellness Integrative Health (formerly Desire Wellness Group) held its grand opening on August 21 at 2658 N. Columbus Street in Lancaster and now offers services such as functional medical testing, nutrition counseling, and stress management to address root causes.   • Lancaster quarterback Brody Burke discussed the Gales’ 21-20 come-from-behind win over Hilliard Darby in an interview—explaining that the narrow victory showed the team's determination.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • Week 1 of the Eagle-Gazette high school football season is underway as fans can vote for their favorite athlete in a poll that runs from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Friday during the 10-game season—results will be announced after the survey closes.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
