- ➤ A Northeast Ohio company recalled more than 5,000 pounds of cheese after tests at the Middlefield Original Cheese Co-Op detected Listeria contamination — the recall affects products such as pepper jack, horseradish, Monterey Jack and white cheddar produced on June 16, June 24 and July 16 that were sold in Ohio from July 14 to Aug. 7. - ➤ Valley fever—a fungal lung infection caused by inhaling dust spores—has been reported in 12 Ohio residents this year, with 29 cases identified since August as the Ohio Department of Health notes patients show symptoms like fever, cough, and fatigue yet most recover without treatment.
