A recent Toast study shows Ohio ranks among the top five best-tipping states with an average tip of 20.6%—with full-service at 21.1% and quick-service at 17.7%, both above national averages.
The report also finds that an avian influenza outbreak has driven up omelet prices, with Ohio’s average cost rising 5% to $12.60 from last year.
🌲 Environment
Ohio residents will see the Perseid meteor shower peak on August 12—13 at dark spots like Geauga Observatory Park and Fry Family Park as a bright waning gibbous moon will lessen the view.
Experts say stargazers will see 10—20 meteors per hour instead of the usual 50—100 if the sky is clear.

Ohio’s Summer Crisis Program is helping low-income families with electric bills, air conditioner purchases, and AC repairs from July 1 through Sept.
