CRIME NEWS

  • Amanda Spain, 37, from Lancaster was arrested Thursday on a charge of unlawful sexual misconduct with a minor after a report from the victim’s mother revealed a sexual relationship involving her 15-year-old son — she now awaits arraignment at Fairfield County Jail.  ABC6

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, Ohio University Lancaster Community Theatre is presenting White Christmas — a musical with Ohio University Lancaster students, alumni and local talent — at Wagner Theatre with additional shows on July 19, July 20, July 27 and Aug. 3; tickets cost $20 and must be bought online.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State officials announced that Ohio’s sales tax holiday will run from Aug. 1st to Aug. 14th, during which shoppers will be able to buy most tangible personal property priced $500 or less without paying state sales tax. Exempt items include motor vehicles, alcohol, tobacco and marijuana products—so buyers should check item eligibility before purchasing.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
