Good morning, Lancaster.

Dr. David Scoggin, who retired in early June after 35 years serving Fairfield County, was honored on June 13 by Fairfield Medical Center with its Humanitarian Award for founding Arbor View Family Medicine and volunteering at the By The Way Clinic—he also received a proclamation from Governor Mike DeWine. He served on FMC’s board and mentored young doctors, leaving a lasting mark on local healthcare.

Fairfield Medical Center renovated its catheterization lab on June 9 to expand space for new technology that helps doctors perform complex heart procedures and save lives.

The upgrade was funded by a $1 million donation from the FMC Foundation—this investment marks a key step in improving patient care.

Lancaster senior pitcher and first baseman Ashlin Mowery and Bloom-Carroll junior shortstop Madelyn Gates were named the 2025 Eagle-Gazette Co-Softball Players of the Year for their outstanding seasons—Mowery posted a .514 batting average with an 18—3 pitching record while Gates batted .630 to lead her team.
