- ➤ Residents in Millersport can shop for bargains at the annual Lieb’s Island Yard and Garage Sales on June 14 north of Millersport off Millersport Road and join a summer lunch program at the Millersport Community Food Pantry every Monday until Aug. 4. The community held a food truck event on June 12 and celebrated a high school commencement on May 25, and future events include Vacation Bible School at Millersport Methodist Church from July 7 to 11 along with upcoming senior meetings—offering many chances for local engagement. - ➤ Peyton Wellman — a 2023 Bloom-Carroll graduate — accepted a full-time field service technician job with Columbus-based Path Robotics and will start on June 16th. He credited his hands-on training at Ohio University Lancaster’s Engineering Technology program at the Fairfield County Workforce Center for giving him the essential skills for the role. - ➤ The Fairfield County Regional Planning Commission approved a $1.9 million permit for an addition to River Valley Life Center church at 2190 Coonpath Road NW in Lancaster, making it the highest value permit among recent commercial projects. The RPC also granted permits for AT&T equipment upgrades, Verizon cell tower installations, electrical and fire safety work & certificate of occupancy approvals in Lancaster, Thornville, and Carroll.
