CULTURE NEWS

  • The Ohio Glass Museum in downtown Lancaster marked its 20th anniversary today with a ribbon cutting attended by state senator Tim Schaffer and Mayor Don McDaniel, and museum officials shared its journey from a local glassmaking idea to a cultural hub that also offers exhibits, classes and a gift shop.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bloom-Carroll High School recognized Samuel Petty as its Outstanding Senior for 2026—an honor for his academic achievements and leadership.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • An all-sophomore Amanda-Clearcreek FFA team placed 2nd in the state Agricultural Issues Forum CDE on April 25, earning a spot in nationals. The team will compete this fall in Boston after showcasing its work on GMOs across 16 forums.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Monday, May 18, Eden Wilson threw a perfect game that led Liberty Union to a 13-0 win in a five-inning district semifinal; the top-ranked Lions will face Galion Northmor on May 21 at Pickerington North.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • On Monday, May 18, Fairfield Union track teams won MSL championships with record breaking performances and Lancaster boys won the OCC title scoring 150.5 points across 17 events — Fairfield Union girls claimed their 10th championship in 11 years while Lancaster earned its sixth straight league win.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • Fans can vote in the Eagle-Gazette Fan Poll for High School Athlete of the Week, with the contest running until 5 p.m. Friday as part of the spring sports season in Lancaster.
