- ➤ Fairfield Union Junior High’s Power of the Pen team won the Sweepstakes Trophy at the Ohio University-Lancaster Regional Tournament and will compete in the state tournament on May 22 — eight students advanced, including Layla Paxton who earned Round 3 Best of Rounds. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
- ➤ Ohio University Lancaster hosted STEM Discovery Day on May 9, welcoming over 350 students from 21 local schools, 36 teachers and 30 science professionals to explore hands-on STEM activities. - ➤ Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape is recruiting deputies and corrections officers with starting pays of $109,450 and $87,500 respectively—he lowered the minimum age to 18 and held events at local high schools and Hocking College.
