- ➤ A native white oak was planted today at Fairfield County Fairgrounds to mark America 250 under the state's Planting History program. Community leaders said the tree will inspire future generations to honor Ohio's heritage + unite residents across all 88 counties. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Starting June 1, select Cinemark theaters, including the Lancaster Cinemark River Valley Mall, offer $1.75 tickets for family-friendly movies as part of a 10-week Summer Movie Clubhouse program (with additional concession deals available) and varied showtimes on Wednesday plus selected Mondays and Thursdays. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ AHA! Museum will host a hands-on children’s gardening program on May 30 from 10 a.m. to noon when kids plant vegetables and learn from Amelia Walters and master gardeners in weekly sessions starting June 5. Admission is $8 (free for 1-year-olds) at the museum. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Lancaster is installing the Pelco IntelliCross Advanced Pedestrian System at 12 intersections today to help pedestrians with visual or hearing impairments cross safely. The system uses audible tones, tactile cues and high-visibility signals (meeting ADA and MUTCD standards). Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
