- ➤ Pirate Fest 2026 is set to transform Buckeye Lake into a pirate adventure when it kicks off on May 15 with a Pass the Flag ceremony at Boatyard Tavern and Grill, and continues with parades, treasure hunts and live music until May 17 (free entry for all ages). Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lancaster City Schools' LHS Girls Athletic Association team placed third in the Healthy Kids Step It Up Challenge on May 11, earning $1,000 to boost school wellness efforts. The contest featured 274 participants across 39 teams and promoted movement and healthy habits. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Fairfield Medical Center reopened its urgent care, lab and testing services today at 1155 E. Main St. after flood repairs replaced diagnostic equipment damaged in July 2025. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Lancaster baseball beat Newark 2-0 today to win the OCC-Buckeye championship at a game that showcased top local play. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
- ➤ Local sports fans voted for the Eagle-Gazette High School Athlete of the Week for May 4-10, 2026, with the poll open from 6 a.m. Monday & 5 p.m. Friday. The winner is set to be revealed soon after the poll concluded. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
