Good morning, Lancaster.

High school sports in the area saw wins in baseball, softball and tennis as Fairfield Union posted strong plays in baseball while Lancaster teams shone in both softball and tennis.

The wins boost local teams' momentum ahead of upcoming tournament play — each game highlighted standout pitching and hitting.

On May 11, area high school baseball teams learned their tournament matchups in the OHSAA draw — the local Division I game has Lancaster facing Hilliard Darby on May 27 at 5 p.m. — with teams set to compete in state playoffs through June.

Liberty Union High School's softball team, led by four seniors who helped turn the program around last year, secured the Mid-State League-Buckeye Division title—its first league win since 2011.

The team holds a 22-1 record and a state championship and now aims to win a second state title.
