  • Southeastern Machining and Field Service received the 2026 John T. Dye Business Ethics Award from local Rotary clubs in Lancaster for its people-first approach — a recognition given to one of seven nominees for strong community values.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Big tech companies including Google, AWS and Microsoft are planning nearly 80 new data centers in Ohio by 2030; Lancaster residents may see more local jobs as these facilities boost the area's economic development.  ABC6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gardeners can join the Fairfield County Master Gardener Plant Sale on Saturday, May 30 at the Ed Sands Building beginning at 9 a.m. to shop for plant divisions, tomatoes, houseplants, and garden ornaments (cash only sales with a warm beverage and donut available from the Flying Dutchman Donut trailer).  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • Eight Fairfield Union Power of the Pen team students advanced to state finals at Ashland University after a strong finish at the Ohio University-Lancaster Regional Tournament held at Fairfield Union Junior High School. SPORTS NEWS

  • On May 7, FCA baseball edged Berne Union 4-2 to take first place in the MSL-Cardinal Division — while Fisher Catholic girls captured victory at the Laker Track Invitational by scoring 135.5 points.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • Lancaster’s softball team beat Chillicothe 2-0 on May 7 and extended its winning streak to 10 games in a nonconference matchup, with strong pitching playing a key role as the team prepares for the upcoming tournament.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
