COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Harcum House became the Lancaster-Fairfield Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit Organization of the Year and plans to move from its current space on East Main Street to a new facility at 216 Trace Drive so it can better serve children affected by abuse. The award dinner will be held tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at Fisher Catholic High School with a trade show from 4:30 to 6 p.m. preceding it.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fairfield County primary results show that Alayna Hoop, Corey Schoonover, and Bob Wolfinger have been reelected to Lancaster’s City Council while the fourth seat needs a recount due to very close vote totals — local boards will certify final results after counting absentee ballots by May 10.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • Lancaster City Council election results from May 6 show that Joe Bizjak was reelected in the 2nd Ward with 196 votes out of 409, newcomer Ethan Dorr leads the 5th Ward race with 106 votes to Kristina Crites’ 105, and Stephen Ogg edged past Becky Tener in the 6th Ward contest with 164 votes to 161. The results remain unofficial until certified + absentee ballots must be received by May 10 to be counted.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
