- ➤ Drivers across central Ohio paid more at the pump as AAA reported the state average rose to $4.46 a gallon; Hebron registered the lowest price at $3.95 while Columbus stations offered rates around $4.09. ABC6
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fairfield County resident Joseph Green passed the February Bar exam and will be sworn in as an attorney at 2 p.m. on May 18 (at the Palace Theatre in Columbus). Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gardeners are advised to delay buying sensitive annuals until mid-May as a freeze warning is in effect this weekend and to move container plants indoors if needed. The Fairfield County Master Gardeners will host a cash only plant sale on May 30 at the Fairgrounds. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Liberty Union (state-ranked) softball won its league championship with a 1 to 0 victory over Bloom-Carroll on Thursday, April 30.
