GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio voters will decide many county races and local tax questions on May 6, including elections for Lancaster’s city council — a special election for local government. Early in-person and absentee voting is underway—Issue 2 may let the state give bonds for roads and bridges.  NBC4

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Ohio State University Buckeye Tick Test Laboratory is now open and accepting tick samples from the public—results arrive within 72 hours to help detect six tick species that may carry harmful pathogens. The service aims to support health providers and veterinarians with timely data on the rising threat of tick-borne diseases.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Journal Island, a 6-acre Buckeye Lake retreat with a 5,500-square foot main house and several outbuildings, was sold by the Wolfe family on April 4 to Buckeye Lake Islands LLC for an undisclosed amount.
