- ➤ JCPenney will close stores by May 25 in California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, North Carolina, New Hampshire, and West Virginia—with one Maryland location staying open until August—while its 25 stores in Ohio are not affected. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Kyger Hardy, a 29-year-old pedestrian, was critically injured on Sunday night in Lancaster when Ralph Davis—allegedly driving under the influence—lost control, swerved his car onto the sidewalk, and pinned Hardy against a roadside sign before fleeing, leaving Hardy with severe injuries and in hospital. - ➤ The Lancaster softball team lost a rematch against Teays Valley 4-3 after holding a 3-run lead until unearned runs in the fifth and a home run in the seventh turned the game. Coach Allie Kinniard said the team must focus on making better plays under pressure. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
- ➤ After a surprising loss to Logan, the Lancaster Gales baseball team bounced back with a 12-0 win over Reynoldsburg on Wednesday (team record 8-1, 3-1).
