- ➤ The Lyrids meteor shower starts today and will peak on April 21 when viewers can expect to see five to six meteors per hour under dark skies. Lancaster locals are urged to seek dark, open spots to enjoy the view (optimal viewing requires little equipment). Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Fairfield County Engineer’s Office announced road closures on Coonpath and Carroll-Eastern Roads from April 20 to May 15 and Menards is accepting pet supply donations through May 31. The Village Finance Committee met April 13 — the school board will hold a hearing on May 11 about a teacher’s retirement. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ The Lancaster baseball team dominated Logan 14-0 on Monday, April 13 at England Field after its first loss — Cole Atkins pitched a shutout while Brayden Montgomery helped secure an 8-1 season. They will face Reynoldsburg on April 15 before hosting Watterson on April 17. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
