COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The 2nd annual Buckeye Lake Kids’ Bike Safety Rodeo will be held May 10 at Millersport Elementary School as part of Millersport’s bicentennial events. The free event will teach kids ages 5-10 bike safety and provide helmets, swag, food and drink tickets, and a drawing for a new bike—participants will also learn fire safety aboard a Walnut Township fire truck—with pre-registration required.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • April in Fairfield County brings a wide range of spring activities, with running clubs on Tuesday evenings, a soap making workshop on April 3 at 310 Soap Co., and a goat yoga session on April 6 at Hidden Acres Legacy Farm — plus a musical at Lancaster High School and more events scheduled throughout the month — offering locals many ways to enjoy the season. EDUCATION NEWS

  • At the recent State of the Schools Address, interim Dean Martha Kline of OU Lancaster and the superintendents of Amanda-Clearcreek and Lancaster City Schools detailed plans that include expanding OU Lancaster's nursing program, underway construction projects, and new initiatives for students. Amanda-Clearcreek is adding classrooms and launching career pathways while Lancaster City Schools will open a new high school in August 2026 to further prepare students for future success.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

FINANCE NEWS

  • United Way of Fairfield County said getting organized by gathering all tax documents (including W2s, interest income, and retirement records) is key to filing taxes correctly before the April 15 deadline.
