- ➤ A white oak Heritage Tree will be planted April 28 at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster as part of America 250-Ohio celebrations; community leaders will speak at noon to mark the initiative and honor the county’s history. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Lancaster senior Drew Whitlatch was named the Eagle-Gazette Boys Basketball Player of the Year for 2026 after averaging 17 points and leading standout performances, while Tyler Coward of Millersport was honored as Coach of the Year after guiding a strong comeback season. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
