The Fairfield County Cattleman’s Association will host its 37th banquet on March 14 at Harvest Adventures in Bremen with smoked beef brisket and director elections + Lancaster will hold a Jr. Market Beef tagging and weigh-in from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for local exhibitors.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that Ohio gas prices fell last week, with regular fuel averaging $2.77 per gallon on Monday down from $2.89; the state’s rate remains about 8% below the national average of $3.02.

Fairfield County’s bond rating was upgraded to Aa1 by Moody’s today, reflecting strong fiscal health that promises lower interest rates and more funding options.

Commissioner Steve Davis said the change gives the county extra financial flexibility for taxpayer-beneficial decisions.
