  • Local gardeners are encouraged to plan healing gardens with soothing scents and textures as winter ends. Fairfield County offers a 4-H open house and spaghetti dinner fundraiser on March 7, Wednesday Wellness webinars, and pesticide recertification classes on March 12 – all designed to support community well-being.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
  • Lithopolis Cemetery will enforce stricter decoration rules starting spring with a cleanup around March 15 (the new guidelines limit oversized decorative plants and nonapproved items) to better maintain the grounds. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ohio University Lancaster will host its third annual Social Work Resource Fair on March 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brasee Hall’s North Lobby and Wilkes Gallery (1570 Granville Pike). HEALTH NEWS

  • Aldi is recalling nearly 10,000 pounds of its Bremer Italian Style Meatballs sold in 35 states after a consumer reported metal fragments. Customers in Lancaster who bought the 32 oz. bags should return them for a refund (no injuries have been reported).  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • In Fairfield County, the median home listing dropped to $359,900 in January, a 6.6% decrease from December. Homes list at $190 per sqft+ and typically take 67 days on market.  Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Lancaster girls basketball rallied from an eight point deficit with a rapid run that scored twelve to zero in the final two minutes to defeat Grove City 43 to 39 in a district semifinal on Feb. 26.
