- ➤ Fairfield County Fair won first place for its promotional souvenir designed for the 2025 Fair celebration during a Communications Awards Ceremony in Columbus on Jan. 29. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in Ohio averaged $2.88 per gallon Monday, up 16 cents from last week's 2.68, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The rates are just above the national average and were 2% higher a year ago. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ohio lawmakers are considering a bill that would require K-8 schools to provide 30 minutes of recess twice a day and let club sports count for high school physical education, said Reps. Tom Young — one of the sponsors — and Melanie Miller during a Jan. 29 House Education Committee session. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
