- ➤ Isabella Busey, the 2025 Fairfield County Fair Queen, was named second runner-up in the Ohio Fair Queen Contest on Thursday, Jan. 22 after a contest with 76 state fair representatives. Busey is a junior at Canal Winchester High School and a 9-year member of the Lithopolis Livestock 4-H Club. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, Jan. 20, regular gas dropped slightly to an average of $2.68 per gallon from $2.69 last week, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Over the past year, fuel prices decreased 13% and remained roughly 4.7% below the national average. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

- ➤ Fairfield County officials urge residents to stock up on food, water, and medicine ahead of a storm expected to drop 6 to 8 inches of snow Saturday night into Sunday — they recommend slow driving and advise checking local shelter options if necessary. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
- ➤ Massive winter storm Fern will bring heavy snow and bitter cold soon, so the Department of Energy advises residents to set thermostats at 68 degrees (a move that can save up to 10 percent on heating) by lowering them 7 to 10 degrees for eight hours. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
