➤ Attorney Bryan Everitt was elected president of the Lancaster City Schools Board on Jan. 7 as he steps up from vice president, and he has built a strong record of involvement with local organizations. He will lead board efforts to improve education in our community. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

➤ The Lancaster girls' basketball team won its fifth game in a row on Jan. 14 against Canal Winchester in Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division play, with Harper Allen scoring a career-high 26 points as the team improved to a 7-6 overall record. Lancaster Eagle-Gazette
